Melsteel Pty Ltd is a family owned company. operating since 1987 from two premises in the Hallam area and has since developed into one of Victoria's largest steel resellers.
Established with the primary objective of filling the gap between BHP distributors and steel resellers, Melsteel's success was dependant on the personalised service of resellers.
The company now enjoys the reputation of being one of the states most experienced and service orientated steel suppliers.
Our head office, dealing with steel sales, administration and the home market is located on Abbott Road Hallam and has easy access to the Princess Highway and South Eastern Freeway.
Our 4,000 m2 factory has 4 x 5-tonne overhead cranes to access the 1,000-tonne plus stock including both Australian and imported steel.
Our second site, located just around the corner on Hallam South Road, is a 2000 sq ft. factory and handles all commercial orders including those for schools, hospitals and factories.
Our directors include Ian and David Hunter located our main plant and Russell Hunter who manages the Hallam Road branch.
Our sales staff are well trained and can handle any steel or construction enquiry and supply quality products at highly competitive prices.
We offer an in house drafting service with 3D capacity. Our draftsmen co-ordinate with the builder to detail draw each job so that assembly on site is efficient.
Together, the sales team and estimators are able to quote projects from plans to client's requirements - supply only or supply and erect.
